# DC Power System
DC Power Systems are an integral part of providing power to remote or temporary systems. With the flexibility to design around AC and DC energy sources and loads, and to design for a variety of system sizes, solar battery storage as part of your remote power application is an optimal choice.
Applications for DC Power stations can extend from temporary solutions in built-up environments for temporary or fixed lighting, CCTV solutions at worksites, or manufacturing and construction sites to remote sites reliant on solar autonomy. Providing reliability and a long lifetime on remote solar sites, a DC Power System is the ideal solution for remote environmental monitoring and telemetry sites where costs to visit for maintenance are expensive and time-consuming.
While systems can be highly customisable for each site, there are aspects that all DC Power Systems will have in common. On the Inbound Power side there will be the power generation systems. This can be purely DC, such as a solar array, or it can be supplemented by AC power systems such as the grid or a generator. This portion will also contain the regulator and the battery charger if it is required for the system.
The Power Storage system will consist of the battery, any fusing or shunts that are required, and the balance of systems.
The Outbound Power side is highly dependent on the load profile of the system, with inverters required for any AC loads, DC/DC converters required for any DC load at different voltages, or low voltage disconnect devices if the load is also be required to be protected.
