Selling commercial storage shouldn't be an uphill battle against corporate budget cuts. The NSW Peak Demand Reduction Scheme (PDRS) gives you a high-leverage commercial sales tool to remove client budget hesitation on Day 1.
From 1 September 2026, NSW businesses can access new battery incentives that significantly improve project ROI. The BESS3, BESS4 and BESS5 battery incentives under the Peak Demand Reduction Scheme (PDRS) are built to cut the cost and payback period of battery storage for commercial and industrial projects, small & medium businesses, and apartments & strata units.
They cover the entire C&I range from small 20kWh systems up to 30MWh utility-scale projects.
NSW PDRS C&I Incentive - At Quote Reduction
The NSW Peak Demand Reduction Scheme (PDRS) operates on a deemed capacity model. You don't need to monitor ongoing energy usage, log battery performance, or collect utility bills after commissioning—the scheme value is calculated and applied as an at-quote reduction on your initial commercial proposal.
The government estimates these incentives can reduce battery project payback periods from 7-10 years down to approximately 3.5-6.5 years, creating a strong sales opportunity for C&I customers.
