BRUCE CRANE
Chairman of the Board
Bruce has been a director of the RFI group of companies since 2006 and Chairman since 2010.
Prior to his retirement from full-time employment, he was General Manager - Administration & Finance and Company Secretary of Downer EDI Limited, an ASX Top 100 company, which provides comprehensive integrated engineering and infrastructure management services.
Initially, he spent twelve years in chartered accounting, then several years with AWA Limited in corporate and general management. Bruce was Chief of Corporate Services for the group focusing on acquisitions and divestments, and later Group General Manager - Electrical & Distribution. In this position he was responsible for AWA Distribution, AWA New Zealand, Dulmison Group and Halmac Services businesses.
Bruce holds a Bachelor of Business majoring in accounting & commerce and was a Fellow of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants and Institute of Chartered Secretaries. He also has a Graduate Diploma in Company Secretarial Practice.
Dr Yoram Benit
Non-Executive Director
Dr Yoram Benit has been Chief Executive Officer of Christchurch-based Tait Communications since June 2021. He joined the company in the United States and moved to New Zealand in early 2019 following his promotion to Chief Operating Officer.
An electrical engineer by trade, Yoram was with Motorola Solutions for 31 years, in director-level roles in Latin and North America with responsibility for customer operations, technical support and marketing, sales engineering, and product management. In 2011, he was promoted to Vice President with responsibility for product and solution management and pre-sales engineering. From 2015-2018, Yoram worked for Harris Corporations as VP of Product Line Management in the Public Safety and Professional Communications division. Yoram holds an Electrical Engineering Degree from Tel Aviv University, Executive MBA from the University of Miami Florida, and a PhD in Global Leadership and Risk Management from Lynn University Florida.
Penny Hoogerwerf
Non-Executive Director
Penny Hoogerwerf is a Non-Executive Director in our Board Members and a Chief Legal Officer for Tait Communications. Penny heads the global legal, compliance, commercial, and risk functions at Tait.
Penny holds a BA LLB from the University of New South Wales, Sydney, and has 25 years of experience as a corporate lawyer spanning the UK, Australia, and New Zealand. More than half of that time has been spent working in-house with large corporates across a range of sectors. Penny is an expert in corporate governance, risk management, and infrastructure projects.
DUNCAN MACLEAN
Executive Director
Duncan MacLean is one of our founding employees and has been a director since 1984.
Duncan has been involved in every aspect of the business contributing more than 40 years of international and domestic executive roles throughout the company, including executive responsibilities for the Solar and Energy products divisions.
Paul Munro
Non-Executive Director
Paul Munro is an experienced director, chief executive and corporate finance professional. He is chairperson of Orion New Zealand, the Christchurch City-owned electric power distribution company, and sits on the boards of several other businesses. For six years he was the chief executive of Christchurch City Holdings, an umbrella organisation which oversees the city’s portfolio of commercial infrastructure businesses. Prior to that role, he had a 24-year career with Deloitte where he was a Corporate Finance Partner.
Mr Munro is a Chartered Accountant (Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand) and a Chartered Fellow of New Zealand’s Institute of Directors. He completed his Commerce degree (Finance and Accounting) at the University of Canterbury. He lives in Christchurch.
David Randell
Non-Executive Director
David Randell has forty years of leadership experience, twenty-eight of which he gained as a partner with PwC in New Zealand, the UK, the USA and Asia. He is a financial, audit and governance expert, a member of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants and the New Zealand Institute of Directors, and holds a post-graduate Diploma for International Business from Harvard/INSEAD.
Since retiring from PwC for the last eight years David has taken on several governance roles. This includes, as well as Tait, Director of Hugh Green Group (urban development) and Chair of Provident Insurance (automotive insurance).
THOMAS SJAHRY
Company Secretary
Tom Sjahry joined RFI in January 2019 as Head of Finance and was appointed as Company Secretary in June 2020. With over 25 years’ experience as a qualified Chartered Accountant, CPA and FTIA, Tom has held senior finance roles with Finance and Gaming Manufacturing multi-nationals such as Aon, ING, IGT, AGI and ORIX.
